Romain Grosjean did not have the chance to savour his new victory for very long: the ART Grand Prix driver has lost his win after he was handed a 25 second penalty when it was shown that he had overtaken backmarker Marko Asmer under yellow flags three laps before the end of the race. Consequently, Giorgio Pantano was declared the winner with Romain Grosjean taking second in the event.
Along with the Frenchman, three other drivers also got penalised: Mike Conway, Jérôme d'Ambrosio and Vitaly Petrov all received a ten grid place penalty after they failed to slow down under yellow flag in the final stages of the race. They will start tomorrow's race from the back of the grid.
