Maldonando joins Hirate at Trident

Pastor Maldonado will join Trident Racing in 2007. He will partner Kohei Hirate in the GP2 series in the upcoming season. The Venezuelan tested for the team in December and also had a try-out with the BCN Competicion team.

"After reviewing all the proposals that I had for 2007, I think we have made the best decision in signing with Trident," said Maldonado. "They are a very professional team with which we are going to work hard to fight for the top positions in GP2."
