Giorgio Pantano has had a good first day of testing at Paul Ricard. The Italian set the fastest time of the day and said he made some useful progress throughout the day at the French track.
With the Campos Racing team Pantano is currently in France to prepare the car for the upcoming GP2 season. Looking back at his first day of testing at Paul Ricard Pantano told GPUpdate.net: "Today it was a quite regular day. Most of the other drivers used all their new tyres towards the end of the morning session, while we kept a set of new tyres for the afternoon, even because we were testing some new set-ups. It all went well."
"The weather was disturbing because it went wet and then dry, but it was completely dry for only less than an hour. We are beginning to work on the new car, and indeed tomorrow they are changing the circuit, putting on longer straights to do aerodynamic testing and to let teams know how the new car can work. There is not a lot of difference compared to the old car, but today we could feel all the little different details. It all looks very promising!"
