Pantano ready to win races

07 March 2007

Giorgio Pantano will be racing this season with the Campos Grand Prix team in GP2. It will be the Italian's third year in GP2 after a successful second yaer at FMS. Pantano believes the team gave him a competitive car to race in front of the field.

Pantano, a former Jordan F1 driver (2004), joined the GP2 series in its inaugural year with the SuperNova team when he raced alongside Adam Carroll. In 2006 he raced with FMS and won three races, finished fifth in the overall standings. In 2007 Pantano will race for the Spanish Campos Grand Prix team.

Looking ahead of the upcoming season Pantano said: "During the winter testing we proved that we have a competitive car to race with in front of the field, so we have to get out there and fight for victory. I have settled very well here with the team because I have found a great atmosphere here and very qualified people with a great hunger for victory."

The GP2 season will get underway on the 15th of April in Bahrain.
