Trident Racing looks back at last week's test

12 March 2007 / Results / Photos

On Thursday and Friday the GP2 teams were testing at Circuit de Catalunya. Trident Racing had a difficult day on Friday mainly as their race driver Pastor Maldonado went off and was unable to complete enough laps that day.

Because of Maldonado's heavy damage he could not continue his programme on Friday. Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Trident Racing's team principal looked back at the test session saying: "It wasn't a very positive day of testing for us, because we weren't able to complete the development work we prevented. Pastor made a mistake at turn 3, and the impact left the car severely damaged. It's a pity because he had one set of new tires left, that would have allowed us to evaluate the pure performance of the car in qualify conditions."

"Kohei (Hirate) completed his morning schedule regularly, but once again he could not express all car`s potential due to the many interruptions he encountered when he was on new rubber. Then in the afternoon he got very tired physically, and we were not able to receive the feedback we hoped."
