An interview with Lucas di Grassi
21 March 2007One of the championship contenders in the upcoming season is ART Grand Prix driver Lucas di Grassi. The Brazilian had a difficult season in 2006, but in the winter test sessions he showed a very strong performance.
Lucas, how are you feeling less than month away from the start of the competition?
I feel great. The testing sessions have gone well so far and I really enjoy working with ART. I think we are going to have an excellent partnership this year. They are so well-organized: they work like a F1 Team. They are very attentive to details. They push their drivers a lot which means constant improvements. Thanks to their methods, I know my driving has already gotten better. It is awesome. However, I know I still have to keep on improving on all levels. That's how I will be able to win the title.

Through the testing season, you were in the Top 10 on regular basis and even topped the time sheet on several occasions...
I was just doing my job according to what ART asked me to do. We've been working hard in order to get the car at a great level of competitiveness. Of course, it felt great to top the time sheet and be the fastest, but what's really important is to get the car ready for the first race.
Do you think it foresees the competitiveness of your team and yourself for 2007?
I hope so. I expect to be fighting for the championship this year and so far the car has shown a very good potential.
Which team do you believe will be your main opponent?
There will not be just one. There will be many teams in position to fight for wins this year. I think the championship is going to be very competitive. It will be very interesting!
