Campos drivers hopeful of solid finish

13 April 2007

Campos Racing drivers had an unspectacular qualifying session in Bahrain - Giorgio Pantano will line up 13th and Vitaly Petrov 23rd on the grid for the sprint race tomorrow. Both drivers are focusing on avoiding any first-lap crashes with GP2 veteran Pantano confident of getting to the front of the field whilst Petrov is hoping to bring the car home safely.

Giorgio Pantano said: "Tomorrow we will start from the middle of the grid and that can be a great inconvenience as you could end up having many problems. Nevertheless, I have a good feeling with the car and I think that if we have a good start we can finish at the front and get a good result."

Vitaly Petrov commented: "This is the first race of the season and for me is a totally unknown racetrack, that is why I think the most important thing will be to finish the race tomorrow. Once we have managed to do that, we will have to try to improve the positions and avoid any incident at the start of the race, something quite complicated in this category."
