Timo Glock managed another second place in the second race at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Like in Saturday's race, the German had to come through more technical problems to claim the second spot on the podium. The BMW Sauber test driver is happy to have established himself as a championship contender already and is looking forward to improving his qualifying performance and thus enhancing his race position.
"We had another problem that meant the car didn't steer straight, which was maybe a problem with the set-up," Glock said.
"But the main problem was that I had to go completely offline in the first corner after the start and I damaged the rear tyre on the curb. There was a cut over 2cm on the right rear tyre and pretty deep as well. So it was difficult again, but I managed to come up to P2 again with some good manoeuvres in Turn 1.
"At the end P2 was a good result for the championship, for the team, and it showed how strong we are. The only thing is that we have to get it right in qualifying now. It's still a little bit of a problem, but I think its still possible to be strong in the race and finish every time in the top five. I'm looking forward to the next one."
