Lapierre happier at new team

Lapierre happier at new team

16 April 2007

Nicolas Lapierre says he feels more settled now at his new team DAMS having spent two seasons with Arden. Despite Arden's reputed status as a top team, Lapierre suffered much misfortune and feels he was never able to show his true potential.

"It's a different philosophy, but I think I feel better here because they are French people so it's better for communication, and it just feels better together.

"We have done a lot of good things together, so they trust me 100% and I trust them 100%. It is different, very different, but I think Arden did a good job on Saturday as well, and they are a very strong team, but I think I fit in here much more than in Arden.

"I won the A1 with them (DAMS) before, I have a lot of confidence in them and I know they can do a good job - when I see the numbers on the car are 22 and 23 I think it's not possible because the team is much better than that. They are one of the top teams I think, and last year they had a very difficult season, but the guys here are very good and I'm sure that for this year we will do a very good job," he added.
