Glock wins sprintrace in Barcelona
13 May 2007 / Results / PhotosTimo Glock has shown a great performance in Sunday's GP2 sprintrace. The German started his race at Circuit de Catalunya from seventh position and worked himself to first. Javier Villa finished second in his home Grand Prix, while Lucas di Grassi finished third, just like in Saturday's race.
Sunday's GP2 sprintrace finished early for Frenchman Nicolas Lapierre. He was unable to start his warm-up lap and was even leaking a lot of oil at the starting grid. His car was pushed to the pitlane but he was unable to start today's sprint race.
As Borja Garcia and Pastor Maldonado had problems at the start of the race there was a restart, just like in Saturday's race. There were a few incidents at the re-start. Roldan Rodriguez spun his car, which finished his race immidiatly. Jason Tahinci and Andy Soucek stalled their cars and could walk back to their pitbox. Javier Villa made a perfect start and could keep first position at the start. His team-mate Sergio Jimenez made a bad start as he fell back from second to fifth.

| Glock ahead of Senna |
At the start Bruno Senna climbed up from fifth to third, but he couldn't enjoy his third place for long as Timo Glock passed the Brazilian. Not much later Glock passed Lucas di Grassi for second position and it was easy to see Glock was determined to win Sunday's sprintrace. In the seventh lap Glock also managed to pass youngster Javier Villa to take the lead.
Glock was clearly the fastest driver today and easily won the race. Andreas Zuber completed the fastest lap.
