Filippi enjoys first Monaco outing
26 May 2007 / Results / PhotosAt his first ever race at Monaco, Luca Filippi was pleased with his fourth place. The Super Nova driver managed to gain some places after starting from seventh and was putting significant pressure on title rival Timo Glock for a podium place. However, the two touched which effected the handling of the Italian's car as Filippi had to re-adjust his driving. Luckily he kept it together to bring the car safely in fourth spot and score some valuable points.
Filippi said: "I'm pleased because starting seventh here is not easy. I had a problem in qualifying yesterday, I wasn't able to go quicker and I had a good start. I was fifth and then we had a good strategy because we passed Petrov and Di Grassi but unfortunately I was behind Timo and that was my final position. I tried to overtake him but it was difficult. I closed a bit and we touched a little bit also. My front left was bent for the rest of the race, I had five or six very difficult laps where I was just trying to find the feeling, very strange front, and when I got it we were quick again. Even if the front left was bent so much I'm happy, because the balance of the car was fantastic, it was perfect, and if we were maybe having a better grid position, I honestly think I would be able to maybe try and win or go for a podium."
