Bakkerud hopes to score first points

28 June 2007

Christian Bakkerud hopes he can score his first points this weekend at Circuit de Nevers. De Danish DPR driver has yet to score his first point in the 2007 GP2 championship. Even though he never raced at Magny-Cours before he hopes he can pick up his first point in France.

"I've never been here before," said Bakkerud. "I wanted to try and fit in a test but it wasn't possible, so I've just been learning from playing on the PlayStation, watching videos of previous races and concentrating on my fitness. That's as prepared as I can be, and I hope it won't take long to learn it on Friday."

He is also aiming for a points finish, commenting, "We need to get a decent result here. We still don't have any points and I really want to change that. I didn't have the best of tests in Paul Ricard, but I never go particularly well there. We did have some issues with the car which are hopefully now resolved, and I hope we can make a step forward this weekend."
