Pantano wins race one
30 June 2007Giorgio Panatano triumphed in a chaotic first race at Magny Cours this afternoon, once the event got back underway following Ernesto Viso's big accident on lap one.
Pole sitter Timo Glock and Andreas Zuber collided with each other on the run down to the first corner. Corners later Ernesto Viso had a big accident from which he somehow managed to escape unharmed.
The race was red-flagged for a full hour while Viso was extracted from his car and taken to the medical centre. When it restarted Pantano went on to win ahead of di Grassi, Senna, Filippi, Perov and Zaugg.
