Andreas Zuber faced his worst start of the season at Magny-Cours on Saturday. As the iSport International driver lined up in second position at the grid - next to teammate Glock - he was ready for a podium finish. But after 10 meters his race already ended as he collided with his teammate Glock.
Zuber believes he did nothing wrong at the start. Even though both drivers clearly moved towards each other Zuber believes it was mainly Glock who moved too much away from his racing line. "I knew that I would need a good start to take the lead. Surprisingly, my race went nowhere," said Zuber looking back at Saturday's race. "I started strongly and I was already along side Timo Glock but suddenly just after the start, I found myself flying off in the air, and I could not control the car anymore after my team mate and I had contact.
"It was incredibly frustrating because before the race we had discussed that I would keep to my line to be in better shape for the first corner, so I was surprised that Timo changed his line so quickly to the inside without seeing me. It destroyed the team's incredibly hard work and robbed us of a potentially great result and I'm very sorry for that, but it was impossible for me to avoid."
