Great Britain's Adam Carroll said today was the sweetest victory of his career as he got back to his best in front of over 100,000 fans at Silverstone. They were wowed with some amazing overtaking which saw Adam move from 3rd on the grid, to the top step of the podium.

The Petrol Ofisi Fisichella Motor Sport International driver, on his second weekend back after ten months away from GP2, scored 13 points for the team, who until this point of the season had scored none.

"This win means so much to me. Some people have shown a great belief in me and it means a lot to get back winning. Last season and this season, up until now, has been very difficult but this makes everything worthwhile. It is great to be back," said the 24 year old from Portadown in Northern Ireland, who now lives locally in Northhampton.

In 2005 Adam won three races; Imola, Monaco and Spa - but winning at his home event in Silverstone is the best so far. "To hear the crowd cheering when I was on the podium was amazing, all cheering for me. I hope there will be another British driver on the top step this afternoon. Over the years I have had some great races with Lewis and I hope he stands up there too this afternoon. It would be a perfect weekend for the fans."

FMS Team Principal Paulo Coloni added, "This is the reason that I am in motor racing. It makes me so happy to see a driver performing in this way. Adam is a great driver there is no doubt."
