Rodriguez could soon test with Spyker F1

23 August 2007

Earlier this week it was reported in Dutch media that GP2 driver Roldan Rodriguez was linked with a racing seat with Spyker F1 in 2008. The team who does not want to make any decisions already on next year's line-up immediately denied the reports. Team boss Colin Kolles now does admit though Spyker has an eye on the Spaniard and could offer him a test with the team soon.

Kolles said earlier this week: "For us it is too early to finalise the 2008 line-up. At present we are focused on finishing the 2007 season with Adrian and Sakon and working hard to ensure the B-spec is successfully introduced."

But the Spyker F1 team boss does admit Rodriguez is someone the team is following closely: "Roldan is someone we are watching since Adrian Campos introduced him to us some time ago and now, after his podium in the GP2 race in Hungary, we are looking at the possibility of testing him fairly soon. But we have no concrete plans for 2008 and it is too early for us to make any decision about next year."
