Giedo van der Garde travelled to the South of Spain for a two-day test session in the GP2 series. On Thursday the Dutchman completed a full day of testing with Arden International and set the 8th fastest time in the morning. In the afternoon he was unable to improve his fastest time in the morning and ended 12th.

"I really enjoyed my day," said Giedo. "In the morning we began the day with a number of installation laps. When I started pushing I was fifth on the time sheets. At the end of the morning we fitted new tyres and I could complete set competitive laptimes. In eighth time wasn't bad at the end of the morning.

"In the afternoon we worked on the set-up of the car. At the end of the day, when I could complete some flying laps, the session was interrupted several times with red flags unfortunately. Even though I was unable to improve my lap time in the afternoon I really enjoyed my day with Arden. It is a great team and very friendly guys that know what they talk about."

On Friday Giedo will be testing with the DAMS GP2 team.
