Trust Team Arden signs Buurman

Trust Team Arden has signed Yelmer Buurman for one the last available seats in the GP2 Main Series 2008. Yelmer tested for the team last weekend In Dubai and convinced the team management and engineers that he is the perfect candidate to race for the team together with Red Bull F1 test/reservedriver Sébastien Buemi. Yelmer Buurman signed a 2-year contract with Trust Team Arden. 

Yelmer Buurman commented on the deal: "I am very happy that Trust Team Arden has chosen me as their racedriver. I am grateful to Christian Horner and Michel Perridon for this chance and I like to thank our new sponsors Riwal and Argos Oil for their support. Trust Team Arden is a famous team with a proven track record and a lot of fans in Holland. The test in Dubai went quite well although we could have ended higher in the rankings. I am confident that I can help the team forward and I will do everything to surprise our competitors. I will be very disappointed it we are not a frequent podium visitor in 2008." 

Christian Horner, managing director Trust Team Arden, said: "Following 2 very productive days testing in Dubai the Team are pleased to announce Yelmer Buurman is the partner of Sébastien Buemi in the 2008 GP2 Championship. After careful consideration Yelmer emerged as the obvious candidate for Trust Team Arden. After following his progress with interest through European Formula 3, I am certain that Yelmer can look forward to a strong season in GP2."
