Romain Grosjean claimed the first Asian GP2 race victory on Friday afternoon in Dubai. The Frenchman, who started his race from pole position, dominated the race and won well ahead of his competitors. Bruno Senna and Andy Soucek joined Grosjean on the podium.

The first Asian GP2 race got underway at 14.30 local time at the Dubai Autodrome. GP2 rookie driver Romain Grosjean began his race from pole position with Bruno Senna lined up next to him. At the start of the race Grosjean managed to keep the lead, Bruno Senna though failed to stay in second as Soucek overtook the Brazilian at the start.

Christian Bakkerud and Sebastien Buemi were both in a fight but Bakkerud soon flew off track having only himself to blame for this mistake. Not much later Karun Chandhok spun off on fresh (cold) tyres when he tried to overtake Armaan Ebrahim.

Luca Filippi missed out on fourth position because he was blocked by BCN driver Jason Tahinci, who was being lapped by Filippi. The Italian lost some valuable seconds behind Tahinci. After Filippi's pitstop he returned on track behind Valles in fifth position.

With five laps to go Bruno Senna managed to overtake Andy Soucek for P2. It was clear that Soucek was slowing the Brazilian down as Senna set the fastest lap right after he overtook Soucek. Grosjean did not make any mistakes in Dubai and easily won the race.
