Romain Grosjean has also won the sprint race in Dubai. The rookie driver began his race from eighth position, but managed to work himself to the front of the field. After just the first Asian GP2 weekend Grosjean now leads the championship 10 points ahead of Bruno Senna.

The second race in Dubai got underway on Saturday morning with Fairuz Fauzy on pole position as he finished Friday´s opening race in eighth position. Adrian Valles, starting from P5, had a fantastic start. The Spaniard entered turn one in the lead but not much later lost control of his FMS car and flew off. He had to continue his race from the back of the field but not much later he spun off, which finished his race early.

Sebastien Buemi was next when he got hit by one of his rivals. To remove his car to a safety area the safety car came out. But as the safety car came out Kamui Kobayashi and Marcello Puglisi managed to take each other out. Meanwhile it was Luca Filippi who worked himself up to P2, but during the safety car period his car gave up on him and he had to park his car on the side of the track unfortunately.

At the restart of the race Grosjean took P3 by overtaking Chandhok. With the help from Schlegelmilch, who exited the pitlane holding up Yoshimoto, Grosjean managed to overtake the Japanese driver for P2. And not much later race leader Fairuz Fauzy was next so Grosjean could claim his second win this weekend.
