FMS confirms Soucek
31 January 2008Fisichella Motor Sport has confirmed that Andy Soucek will race for the team in the 2008 GP2 Series. Soucek, who was born in Madrid in 1985, has previous GP2 experience in 2007, achieving a second and a third place in Spa and Valencia Grand Prix. In 2006, the 22-year-old tested for the Toyota F1 Team. In 2008, Soucek will focus on his GP2 series with Fisichella Motor Sport International.

Andy Soucek commented, "I am very pleased to join in a top team such as Fisichella
Motor Sport International. A great opportunity for me. These are the most
important years of my professional life, and that's why I choose the best
for me to do. Being linked with such a prestigious team, also will
contribute to make happy my sponsors. I'm also glad to work with my new team
mate Adriàn, we will give a strong push forward to achieve all together a
very successful season."
Giancarlo Fisichella added, "We have now completed our line up and it is the most
competitive combination we have had since the beginning of FMSI. Our
objective is to finish in the top three in the series and the arrival of
Andy will make sure we will achieve our goal."
