Bakkerud joins Super Nova

The Super Nova team has signed Christian Bakkerud for the upcoming GP2 Main Series. The Danish driver is already competing for the team in the current GP2 Asia series but was unable to score any points the opening races in Dubai.

"This is a great day for me and it vindicates the hard work which has been put in by myself and the Super Nova team in winter testing," said the happy Dane. "There is mutual admiration and a belief that together we can achieve strong results and mount a sustained challenge for the GP2 main series title. David and his team have a good record at this level of motorsport and he has previously helped to develop the careers of fellow Danes Jan Magnussen and Jason Watt and I want to be the next Danish driver to reach the top levels of single-seater motorsport.

"Now that our future together has been settled we can concentrate on honing the car and challenging at the front of the field. I can't wait for the next race in Indonesia!"
