Difficult day for Trident
05 March 2008 / Results / PhotosThe collective tests at Barcelona, with all the GP2 Series teams on-track for the second straight week, proved to be really tough for Trident Racing. During the AM session, Mike Conway went off-track at turn 4, without having the chance to complete a flyer. The team's staff managed to repair his Dallara in time for the PM session, where Conway tried to carry on part of his morning`s programme.
Ho Pin Tung continued to increase his feeling with the new racecar, and set a personal best of 1:27.350. The tests were disturbed by the cold and windy weather, as well as by a number of off-track excursions with subsequent red flags.
Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Managing Director of the team commented, "Our day at Barcelona was quite difficult but, apart from the inconveniences that forced us to modify our testing programme, we eventually had a positive feedback. The team shown great consistency, managing to put a remedy to Conway`s incident, and allowing him to rejoin testing in the afternoon. We`re sorry for not having had the chance to push and tryout our qualifying potential, but we`re sure by the evidence we have that the pre-season schedule is going on in the right direction. Ho Pin Tung continued in his planned job, getting progressively used with both the team and the car."
