Kobayashi wins sprint race in Malaysia

DAMS driver Kamui Kobayashi claimed victory in Sunday's sprint race at the Sepang International Circuit. Championship leader Romain Grosjean joined Kobayashi on the podium alongside Vitaly Petrov who finished in third.

The conditions were hot in Malaysia when Kobayashi began his winning race from fourth position on the grid. At the start he grabbed the lead right away ahead of Saturday's winner Petrov. Grosjean started his race from ninth position but easily managed to move up to fifth, and a few laps later to third. A few laps later the Frenchman overtook Petrov but Kobayashi was already away on the horizon and unable to catch.

Marcelo Puglisi drove a steady race in Malaysia and looked like he was going to finish in forth. But unfortunately for the Italian his car was failing on him and he fell back to a ninth position. Valsecchi finished fourth in Sepang with debut driver Yelmer Buurman close behind in fifth position.
