Davide Valsecchi is still recovering from his heavy crash in Istanbul. The 21-year-old Italian crashed into the tyre barriers in Friday's qualifying session. After the crash he said he felt okay but he was not allowed to continue the Grand Prix weekend. It is expected that Valsecchi will be able to race in the French Grand Prix.
Valsecchi is obviously unpleased to miss the event. He said: "I am sorry to jump the Monaco event but the doctors convinced me that is better to be a little bit more patient. This to be sure to avoid any kind of problems in the future. So I give my car to a good driver and a dear friend but just for this time, from Magny Cours on I will be back in the cockpit".
Marcello Puglisi commented on his opportunity to replace Valsecchi at Durango next week: "I am sorry for my friend Davide, anyway in Monaco I will try to bring his car in the best possible front place. I know that it will not be easy but I am quite confident in myself and in Durango potential. Then I will totally concentrate on the Formula Master which is my main program this year".
