
German F3 driver Hamad Al Fardan will be joining the GP2 Asia series with iSport this winter. The 21-year-old from Bahrain will team up with iSport in the upcoming season as the team will change his name to 'Team GFH iSport'.
Al Fardan will become the first Arab driver competing in the GP2 Series. He will enjoy his debut next month as the season will kick of in Shanghai.
"I'm very proud and fortunate to have arrived at this very important stage of my motor racing career, and I am determined to make the most of it," said Hamad. "GP2 cars are the closest thing to F1 cars. There are many common features between the two vehicles, from the steering to the engine and control systems, and I'm really excited about the challenge."
"I'm extremely eager to get into the car in Shanghai. I truly enjoy racing there, and I have achieved many good results on that track in the past," added Hamad.
