Van der Garde joins iSport for Asia Series
02 October 2008Dutchman Giedo van der Garde will be racing with iSport in the upcoming GP2 Asia Series. After dominating the World Series by Renault this year the WSR-champ sees a step into GP2 as the perfect next step for his career.

"Obviously I'm extremely pleased with this promotion," Van der Garde said. "The GP2 is an important series when your target is Formula 1. I really have to thank team boss Paul Jackson and Gulf Finance House, the team's new sponsor, for this opportunity and I can't wait to get behind the wheel. We furthermore took an option to stick with the team for the GP2 Main Series, so let´s hope all goes well in Asia."
The GP2 Asia series will start in the weekend of F1's Chinese Grand Prix, October 19th.
