Di Grassi on top at Paul Ricard

Lucas Di Grassi has set the fastest time on the second day of testing at Paul Ricard; the Brazilian topped the timesheets using the track's 2C setup ahead of team-mate Dani Clos and Pastor Maldonado, as the newly-branded Fat Burner Racing Engineering team enjoyed a positive day.

Di Grassi's fastest lap of 1.08.841 was just over a tenth of a second quicker than his team-mate, as the two Barcelona-made cars confidently lapped the French track quickest. The times were extremely tight, however, with just one second covering the top twenty cars under pleasant conditions.

Behind the top three, Javier Villa - who set a new lap record yesterday - set the fourth fastest time with Petrov, Kobayashi and Hulkenberg fifth, sixth and seventh respectively. Luca Filippi, now driving for Super Nova, was in eleventh position on his second day for his new team. It was Kobayashi who drove the most laps, with 46 completed by the end of the day.

Roman Grojean, who finished atop the classification in the morning, dropped down to ninth in the afternoon for Campos as new Ocean Racing signing Alvaro Parente had a troublesome day after he and Arden's Mortara were discovered to be underweight, with their times subsequently declared null and void.

Tomorrow sees the last Paul Ricard session take place, as the shorter 2D configuration will be used to allow the teams to test a different mixture of new components before leaving France.
