Parente tops timesheets in Barcelona
24 March 2009 / Results / PhotosOcean Racing Technology driver Alvaro Parente was fastest at Circuit de Catalunya on Tuesday. The Portuguese driver completed a fastest lap of 1.26.948 to finish just ahead of Lucas di Grassi, Monday's fastest man.

Day two of three got underway in Tuesday in perfect weather conditions, although proceedings were interrupted several times by red flags. Almost every driver completed their fastest lap in the morning as rising track surface temperatures resulted in slower laps in the afternoon.
As a result of this, the majority of the afternoon was spent focussing on long runs while the morning saw most teams complete short runs and experiment with qualifying setups.
Durango's new driver, Nelson Panciatici, completed a positive first day for the team as he finished in 21st position with Lucas Di Grassi, who was fastest on Monday as well as in Paul Ricard last week, summed up his afternoon's work for Racing Engineering: "This was another good day of testing, like yesterday. We finished second overall today and in the afternoon did some race simulation. Everything went really smoothly and we had no problem at all - everything is improving and we are advancing with our test program".
This week's final day of testing commences on Wednesday at 9am local time (GMT +1).
