DPR finalise preparations for 2009

David Price Racing is all set to begin the 2009 GP2 Main Series with drivers Michael Herck and Giacomo Ricci heading the team. Ricci continues, as team-mate now to Romania's Herck after a contract proposal with James Jakes is believed to have ended with the Yorkshireman declining a deal.

Spanish Grand Prix weekend marks Rounds 1 and 2 of 20 in this year's GP2 Series, which will reach its conclusion in Portugal on the third weekend of September. With David Price having sold all shares in the team, the newly-run outfit will be taking to the grid for the first time this season for Race 1 on Saturday.

"It's great to have an element of consistency with this season's driver line-up," said team manager Leon Price. "We are pleased to welcome back Michael, who achieved good results towards the end of last season. He missed out on some of the opening rounds due to a hand injury, so it'll be good for him to have the full season and really get to grips with the car. Giacomo is no stranger to the team either; he competed with us in the GP2 Asia series over the winter, as well as completing two races in the main series with us last season.

"We have two strong drivers with experience of the team and the car, so our aim is to go out and have two consistent races over the weekend; if we can bring the cars home with two full race distances and strong results, we have something to build on for the rest of the season."
