The Racing Engineering team will arrive at Silverstone on a high this week after clinching its first race win of the season with Lucas di Grassi in Istanbul's sprint race. Lying fifth in the teams' championship, there is still progress to be made although team president Alfonso de Orleáns Borbón is confident that more success can be achieved at the Buckinghamshire race track.

After a disappointing start to the season, including both cars suffering from race retirements in Barcelona, Alfonso is confident that the pace of the car is not to be questioned. "We always had the performance, so I am very pleased on that front," said the Spaniard, whose team is located in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, a stone's throw from Jerez. "The only problem were the accidents or inconveniences the drivers had during qualifying which pretty much ruined the weekend. Even so, Lucas managed to get a decisive win in Istanbul."
He went on to describe that, as long as his drivers remain trouble-free in Britain, more positive results can be collected: "Well, we are not going to really change anything except improve on our qualifying form and avoid others crashing into us; if we manage this, I don't think we should have any problems getting decent results.

Like most, Alfonso will be sad to say goodbye to Silverstone after this weekend's races. "As a driver in my day, it was one of my favourite circuits so it has a special place in my heart," he continued. "But aside the personal feelings, I think that it's a fantastic drivers' circuit that allows overtaking in many areas, which is great for the fans as well. Overall, it has great facilities for the GP2 teams, possibly one of the best of the season, so it will be a real pity to be there for the last time with GP2. As for the future, who knows! I might come back to do a classic race or two - I love the place!"
As far as team tactics go, he simply added that Racing Engineering will be approaching the upcoming race weekend with "dedication, effort and a lot of common sense."
