Gonzalez to join Trident at Nürburgring
08 July 2009Rodolfo Gonzalez will be joining the Trident Racing team for the German round of the championship at the Nürburgring this weekend. The Venezuelan will step into the seat of Italy's Davide Rigon, who is currently in discussions over contractual issues with the team.

With Trident stating that it is 'waiting for important answers' from the management of Rigon with regards to financial issues, 23-year-old Gonzalez will make his GP2 Main Series debut alongside Mexican Ricardo Teixeira this weekend, after driving in the Asia Series over the winter months.
With Rigon looking to retake his position in one of the team's cars should the current dispute be solved, the team has explained that it invested in the driver with total confidence for the first half of the 2009 season and soon looking to renew the contract with the 22-year-old, who is yet to score his first points of the season.
