Valsecchi and Durango split

11 August 2009

Davide Valsecchi will not finish the season at Durango, the team has confirmed. The team announced in an official statement that it will set the driver free from any contractual obligations, meaning Valsecchi will not be at the wheel of a Durango at next weekend's European Grand Prix. It is expected that the Italian will replace Romain Grosjean at the Barwa Addax Team.

Frenchman Grosjean, in turn, is most likely going to replace Nelson Piquet Jr. at the Renault F1 team; the Brazilian driver announced earlier this month he is no longer part of the outfit.

Davide Valsecchi brought Durango two victories and four podium finishes. The team has yet to decide who will replace the 22-year-old at the upcoming races in Valencia.
