Multiple World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb has said that his GP2 test at Jerez during the week is in no connection with a possible one-off Formula One outing in the season-closing Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Having been the slowest of the runners in the test for David Price Racing, Loeb - WRC Champion from 2004 to 2008 - has been linked with a possible drive for Toro Rosso at Yas Marina in November but stresses that the rumours are not true.
"It's no link," the Frenchman told Autosport in Spain "This chance to test in GP2 is a private opportunity from an engineer from the (French) Porsche Cup, where I drove last year, and who now works with DPR.
"I'm just doing this because I have the chance. I would like to do the race but nothing has changed - it's the same every day."
