Filippi returns to Meritus for Asia Series

The Meritus team has confirmed that Italy's Luca Filippi will be joining the outfit for the upcoming GP2 Asia Series. Having been with the team two years ago, the two parties are pleased with their latest association as the countdown to Abu Dhabi's season-opening race continues.

"We have concentrated all our efforts around our team for a new start with a new structure, a long-standing sponsor and strong drivers," commented team President Peter Thompson. "After our two first years and all the experience we gained, winning the championship is the overall goal - it is important and a tradition for the team, its drivers and sponsors is to be remembering our motto: 'Winning is Business'."

Thompson is particularly pleased to resign Filippi, who will no doubt only require a short time to gel with team members once again. "We have an excellent working relationship with Luca, who earned a podium for us in Indonesia in our first year of participation," the team founder continued. "Luca had qualified second and won before the team was excluded for a technical infringement."
